The following two campus tours will be taking place on Monday, July 11 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Conference attendees are welcome to attend one of them, but you'll need to sign up in advance at the check-in table located at Porter College Dining Hall.

Grateful Dead Archive Exhibit and Digital Scholarship Commons
Monday, July 11 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM

dead imagejerry imageThe Grateful Dead Archive Exhibit tour will cover information about the archive and creation of the Grateful Dead Archive Online (GDAO) digital exhibit. You will also tour the Library's new Digital Scholarship Commons hub for students and faculty to transform research, scholarly communication, and instruction using new media and digital technologies.

The tour will be conducted by Susan Chesley Perry, Head of Digital Initiatives at the UCSC Library. She is responsible for the Library Digital Collections, the Grateful Dead Archive Online, and the Library's growing data management service. Sue works with faculty and students using born-digital and digitized materials from the Library’s archives in digital scholarship and digital preservation projects.

Scenic Campus Walk Through Redwoods Ending at Quarry Plaza / Bay Tree Bookstore
Monday, July 11 from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM

A UC student will conduct a relaxing walking tour that will guide you through the beautiful redwoods, Science Hill, McHenry Library, and end at Quarry Plaza and the Bay Tree Bookstore so you can do a little shopping! Remember to bring your 20% off bookstore coupon that is located in your conference packet of information. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in layers.
